Updated Everday Makeup Routine

Hello loves

Thursday again already! Can almost smell the weekend now.

I believe that I did every day makeup routine post last summer so I thought I would update you all on what I am currently using – I know some of it is exactly the same!

I have also reached 100 followers this week so keep an eye out for a giveaway coming up shortly.

Base

The ordinary foundation

This is a new discovery and I have done a whole blog post – which you can find here! I don’t usually wear a power with this as I have fairly dry skin at the moment and it seems to make it looked terrible.  The foundation coverage lasts most of the day but I do re-do my makeup if I am out in the evening.

Concealer

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer

I purchased this when my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer ran out suddenly and I couldn’t get to Boots.  It was very much an impulse purchase but I do like it and it is running low already.  I will re-purchase as I feel that I need it in my makeup bag although I do want to try the Revolution one.  This costs £8.99 and claims to be anti-fatigue which I am not sure about but on days where I am having a low makeup day or good skin, I almost use it as a substitute for foundation.

Contour … Highlight and Bronze

Bleach London Contour – Nuity – bones 2

I have never really been good with contour and I find most things too dark and obvious. However, I purchased this following a recommendation from YouTuber Soph Does Nails. She has never light skin and said that this worked a treat.  I agree… I purchased this along with the Contour Brush from Bleach London and I use it most days, even for work.  I have a few other products that have and I want to try but this is too good to let go off.  It is only £4.50 too from Cult Beauty.

Clinque Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight

I actually received this as a free gift with a Clinque order a little while ago, so I do only have the mini version.  I didn’t really know how to use it when I first recieved it but it is becoming my go to highlighter.  It is so easy to apply to the right areas and then I simply use my finger to blend in.  It is a cream formula but it blends well with the powder contour.  When this runs out I will buy the full-sized version which is £20.00.  They also do a contour stick the same as this which I am also keen to try out.

Collection Bronze Glow Mosaic Powder

I use this every day to warm up my face before I leave the house.  I keep it in my handbag rather than with the rest of my makeup and use it throughout the day if needed.  I have spoken about this before on my blog and I am now hitting pan. It is only £2.99 at boots and really does give a nice sun-kissed glow.  I don’t tan my face so when I have self-tanned, I often need something to help me match in and this works perfectly.  The different shades help it look natural on the skin.

Eyes

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and L’oreal Miss Baby Roll Mascara

I have spoken about both of these products on here before and I am still loving them.  They are both under £10.00 and I use them daily, well one or the other.  They can be built up and work well for both work and nighttime. I have very sensitive eyes and these both cause no problems.

Clinque High Impact Waterproof Mascara

Towards the end of last year, I posted on Twitter that I needed a good waterproof mascara for my Grandma’s funeral and this was the suggestion I received.  I wear it every time I know I am going to cry (sad film, funeral etc.) when it is heavily raining or just when I know I will have a long day. It stays put, like it doesn’t move or run at all. It is slightly more expensive at £19.00 but it does last well.

Too Faced – ‘Chocolate Bar’ eye shadow palette

I purchased the small version of this in the January Sales as I am not used to wearing eye-shadow, I decided it would be good to try it out. It smells so good, it always makes me crave chocolate but the colours are also very good for an every day look and can be built up for those after work drinks or date nights when needed. It is a product which I am slowly enjoying using.

Lips

Normally, I wear a Mac Nude Lip as an everyday shade.  My current favourite is Velvet Teddy but I will do a separate post on my current Mac Lipstick Collection.

What is your every day makeup routine?

Boots & Asos Haul – August 2017

It was pay-day last week so I decided to treat myself to both stuff from ASOS & Boots. I spent way too much on clothes last month I have decided that I will buy no more clothes and limit my unnecessary spending this month.

Boots

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks

I saw this on Soph Does Nails and it looked incredible so I rushed to buy the Moca shade, her skin tone is completely different to mine so I have no idea whether this will suit me but I will probably do a review in due course.  It was buy one get one half price in Boots when I ordered so I managed to get a second one for half the price and I picked up the shade Pink Bliss, which seems to be more of my usual lipstick shade.  These are £5.99 per lipstick when the deal is not on.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I have only ever heard good things about this concealer so when I was ordering from Boots I decided to pick it up.  I picked it up in the shade fair shade 1.  I hope that this is not too fair for my skin, if so, then I am sure it will be fine in the winter months.  This was £4.19 and I have high hopes for it.

Collection Primed & Ready Powdered by Witch Invisible Setting Powder

You may remember from my Maybelline foundation first impressions post that I wanted to try a setting powder with the foundation that I was trying out, so this invisible one jumped out at me when I was browsing the Boots website and it found its way into my basket.  The powder was £3.99 which is part of the reason it jumped out at me and it claims to tackle blemishes. I am looking forward to giving it ago before a right my full review on the foundation.

Piz Buin Allergy Sun Sensitive Face Cream SPF30

This is my favourite SPF and I wear it every day. My current one, which I first bought for Mexico is now running low so I decided that I needed a backup for when it does actually run out.  I also need to check whether they do sell these in the winter months otherwise I will be placing another order and very sharp-ish.  It is £6.00 at Boots and I think possible cheaper at Superdrug with their deals however, I was ordering for Boots so just paying a little more seemed reasonable.

ASOS

I love ASOS at the minute and have placed a few orders in the last few weeks so this haul isn’t exactly big. I love the fact that you can put in your height and weight for certain products and it tells you the best size to purchase.  I have not had any trouble with this so far, which is great because I hate returning stuff.

A selection of earings

I had to take my piercings all out for the MRI, which was a pain but it also reflected that I don’t actually wear earings in my lobes enough. I wear them at Christmas time and when I think that the holes are actually closing up but it made me decide that I want to start wearing them more.  I decided to order some from ASOS as I was ordering anyway and I can’t wait to actually put these in. The set of 8 studs was £8.00 where as the heart set £5.00 and the star stud which I am hoping will look good in my forward helix was £6.00.

Barbie Pajamas

I actually wanted the other set of Barbie Pajamas that ASOS sell for the holiday to Mexico back in May.  They have long trousers so I decided that they would stop the bug bites however, I never got around to ordering.  I noticed that they now sell short PJ’s too and they looked so good so I had to order.  These were £22.00 so slightly more than what I would normally spend on Primark but these will probably be the only short Pj’s that I buy for a while. I also hope that they last longer than the Primark ones I usually purchase.  I bought these in an XS (UK size 4-6) and as you can see these are true to size and not too tight for PJ’s.  (Sorry for the bad photo, it’s the only kind of full size mirror I have in the flat.)

#FaceTheDay Collection Palette

It is Friday again, sorry if this post seems rushed I have had such a busy week as I had my MRI and my boyfriend went to Estonia at 3am this morning, so I am hoping that this strong black coffee will get me through today.  I also have a free weekend planned so hopefully I will be able to catch up on blog posts.

I picked up the #FaceTheDay Collection Palette in Boots a couple of months ago.  It is not what I had gone into the store to purchase nor had I read any reviews of it, I just happened to fall upon it and ended up purchasing!  It was a bargain at £3.99 and I have started using it regularly.

What it claims: ‘Get ready to #FaceTheDay with this essential palette that includes a highlighter, blusher, bronzer and four blendable powder eyeshadows.

Choose from 4 shimmering neutral and brown eyeshadows, a matte bronzer, shimmering pink blusher and a neutral highlighter.

It allows you to get a professional make-up look with just one palette and transform your make-up from day to night.’

Okay, so I am not sure if it does really give you a professional make up look but the matte bronzer is perfect for my skin tone and I have started wearing this daily.  I have also received compliments when wearing the highlighter – it is neutral as it claims so is perfect for work.  I don’t wear the highlighter or the blusher every day as I have a couple that I switch between but I do like them a lot.  I wasn’t expecting a lot for £3.99 but I am so impressed.

I will admit that I do not wear eye shadow on a daily basis and therefore, I cannot comment on the eye shadow shades yet.  They do look good though so my aim is to make a conscious effect to wear them more and provide a second review shortly!

Pros

  • It is very affordable at £3.99 per palette
  • It is accessible as can be purchased at Boots
  • A good range of neural colours in the palatte for every day looks
  • Perfect for work

Cons

  • I am a beginner with make up so cannot really comment on the quality of the product.

Overall I love the palatte and wear some of it almost daily! It was such a bargain purchase at £3.99 and for that price I would recommend that you give it ago! If you hate it or think that the quality is really bad it doesn’t matter too much.
