Lets talk Mascara

Happy Bank Holiday Sunday!

It may be obvious from my blog that I chop and change mascara fairly regularly. I find a lot that I do not particularly get on with and then I will find one which I love, use it all up and don’t repurchase as something else has caught my eye.

These are the mascaras that have caught my eye this past year and my honest opinion of them.

You will know that I am currently using the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, this is more expensive than I would usually buy however, I did only buy the travel size and the reviews were good!  After a rocky start with this mascara, I am loving it. My lashes are naturally long and therefore, I need a mascara that adds volume and this does it, despite being a little clumpy. My top tip is to have a Cotton Bud on hand to wipe off the excess on your eye lid. It is one that is already on my Christmas list!

Towards the end of last year, I watched a makeup tutorial online and although, I can’t remember who it was, I was sold on their review and application of Eyeko Black Magic Mascara.  Again, this is a little bit more expensive than my usual as it costs £19.00 although, I did recieve cash back with my purchase, I have noticed that Eyeko currently have 25% off so its a good time to buy.  Alternatiely, keep an eye out for these deals.

The wand with this mascara has a slight curve which does add curl to your lashes. It took me some time to get use to however, once I had perfected the method, it is probably one of the better mascaras I have used.  It lasted all day, added volume and my eyes looked wide.  You will see from my photos that I have used most of the mascara up now, however, I will be re-purchasing in the near future, maybe in the travel size as I mix it up a lot.

Finally, earlier in the year I purchased No 7’s Midnight Last Mascara as it was on offer from Boots and I was already placing an order.  I have not found a No 7 Mascara that I didn’t get on with until I tried this one.  You may see a theme in my reviews that I hate the mascara at first, then grow to love it well… I expected the same here however, after multiple attempts I just can’t get on with it.  It doesn’t seem to add anything to my lashes and the application is so difficult. It also seemed to smudge under my eye when wearing all day.  It appears that it has been discountinued from Boots.

What is your favourite mascara of the year so far?

Love, Minnie xoxo
